Newsletter No.4
Well done Eagles. Two league matches played in November and 2 WINS, a close fought, but loss, in R2 of the League Cup against a Div2 team. Keep up the good work boys; you really are great to watch! During November we were either third or joint third, with 2 games in hand! Last game was an away match, playing Roman Rangers Green on the 4th December that we drew 3 all. We have ended 2011 4th in the league, with 2 games in hand to the 2nd placed team. Fantastic!
Well done to the November Man of The Match Award recipients; James Slater, Will Mullins and Sebastian Wayles. This month has also seen 2, yes, 2 hat-tricks by James Slater and Will Mullins. Great to see both Connor Hawkins and Kai Flanagan had a clean sheet game this last weekend, great job. December Man of the Match went to Chris Feneley, which was well deserved.
Thanks go to Phil Wayles, Roger Flanagan and Mark Hawkins for being linesmen. Plus all the great parental support for all the boys which helps makes the team.
Marcial and Santi’s farewell to Oakley Rangers at the end of the month (Nov) went well, thank you for your support. Great that their final match was an 8-0 win. What a way to go!
NEXT MATCH is 8th January 2012. It is a home game against Water Eaton Youth White. See you at the pitch for 9.30am.
Availability of players although a Sunday may not originally have a fixture, teams and players must be prepared for a fixture to be made up to, and including, the Tuesday night that week. Confirmation texts will be sent. It is vital that players/parents keep the Administrator (Sian) up to date. It is expected that all players are available throughout the season for both training and matches. If you know your child will be unavailable during the season at any time please let Sian know, (078 1616 1310, by text is best), at the earliest opportunity, as it may affect team decisions. Illness/holidays and other, unforeseen things do happen, but please text ASAP.
Matches – please note that additional information has been added to the match list Players must be at the venue (Home by 9.30 and Away by 9.45am), in kit, ready to warm up for a 10.30 kick off. It is expected that the Team provides a linesman for every home and away match.
Training will be on the Astro pitch at Sharnbrook Upper School until Thursday 22nd March inclusive (7-8pm). Is there a (budding) Coach that can help out on a Thursday training and Sunday matches to support the team? FA Training is available if so wished.
Patrick is happy to take additional training sessions on a Sunday morning when we don’t have a match. This will give a longer training session to work on set pieces and give more individual attention. These will be held at Oakley Sports and Social Club (Home ground). Dates: 11 Dec, 18th Dec, 5th Feb, 12th Feb, 25th March, 15th April and 6th May. I will need confirmation of attendance as a training session cannot go ahead without at least 6 people! Thanks
